Leinster 7 a side Blitz.
Our Leinster 7's team played Banagher, Heywood, Castlecomer and Johnstown in Laois Centre of Excellence on Wednesay 12th October.
7's is a tough competition but our girls showed real grit and determination and make it to the semi final against Johnstown.
Gwen Wade was awesome in defence plucking balls out of the air. Abhainn Coady showed great anticipation all day, cutting off passes and runners as well as charging forward and creating attacks. Aoibhinn Dowling in goal was rock solid and her long puck outs opened up our attack repeatedly. Sarah Murphy & Niamh Doyle led the way in midfield and worked tirelessly up and down the pitch.
Ellen Barrett, Sarah Joyce and Molly Kavanagh hit the back of the net time and time again. They were ruthless upfront.
Alice Dalton covered a huge amount of ground in the middle of the field and read the game brilliantly.
Rachel Martin, Ava O Dwyer and Rachel Kennedy provided reinforcement when the going got tough.
The skill , teamwork and athleticism required to played 7’s was a joy to watch today. Well done to all.
