AUGUST

SEPTEMBER

Monday 2nd: The Big Idea creative education programme starts. It will involve interactive workshops led by experts hosted by partner schools, which are fun and engaging. Students will use creative thinking to solve problems in a collaborative format.

Tuesday 3rd: TY Ash will go on walk to Clashganny (9:00 – 1:07).

Wednesday 4th: TY Elm will go on walk to Clashganny (9:00 – 1:07).

GAA Foundation course starts (Room 1, 9-11). Carlow GAA run this optional course, (20 places are available).

Thursday 5th: TY Oak will go on walk to Clashganny (9:00 – 1:07). (Rescheduled from Monday 2nd due to weather)

Monday 9th: GAA Foundation course. (9-11, PE Hall and outside).

Wednesday 11th: John O’Shea, Social Entrepreneurship. John will share his motivational stories with students, in the hope of inspiring another generation to take up the challenge of alleviating the suffering of the forgotten on our planet. TY Oak 9:00 - 9:35, TY Elm 9:40 - 10:15, TY Ash 10:20 - 10:56. Teachers attend workshop scheduled in Room 6.

Wednesday 25th: Presentation by The Hope Foundation, which is dedicated to promoting the protection of street and slum children in Kolkata, some of the most underprivileged in India, as well as their families and communities. TY Ash 11:11 -11:45, TY Pine 11:50 – 12:25, TY Oak 12:30 - 1:07. (Room 6). (Rescheduled from Wednesday 18th due to Ploughing Match).

Monday 25th and Tuesday 26th: Rubbish Film Festival focusses on students making one-minute films on issues surrounding Sustainable Development Goals. This will be a two-day workshop facilitated by Createschool for a selection of 12 interested students. Students will learn a range of skills related to writing, filming, producing, will then be entered into the regional awards, and the winners of these will then be entered into the National Awards next May.

DECEMBER

Sunday 1st: TY mini companies will sell their produce at Christmas Bazaar.

Tuesday 3rd: 25 TY’s will attend the KCETB Microsoft Dream Space in Microsoft, Sandyford, Dublin.

Thursday 12th: Jumpzone and Christmas shopping in Liffey Valley.

Tuesday 17th: Carols by Candlelight

Wednesday 18th: Carol singing at Borris Lodge Nursing Home (Music module group. Students leave at 9:30am for 10:00am performance) (TBC)
